Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority - Support Information

Funding for the Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA), a division of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, has been eliminated for the next biennium in the initial 82nd Texas Legislature budget proposal.  Should the ABTPA be eliminated, it will have a devastating effect on the status of vehicle crimes in Texas.  TAVTI/SCRC members are encouraged to support ABTPA in an effort to see funding reinstated by the legislature.  A number of informational documents and articles have been created to highlight the need for and achievements of ABTPA.  This information has been compiled below for easy access.  If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Michelle Lanham at 800-227-9282.
